Applying for a Visa to Iraq 

 

First:

Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Tehran is authorized to grant entry visas in the following situations:

1.     Personnel and their families working in diplomatic missions in Iraq as well as Arab, regional and international organizations accredited to Iraq.

2.     All official delegations from various countries visiting Iraq.

3.      Businessmen provided that they have official invitation from Iraqi authorities or being introduced as such by their respective ministries of foreign affairs and are supplied with letters from their chambers of commerce.

4.     Iraqi husbands and Iraqi wives after presenting legal documents supporting their claims.

5.     Students pursuing their studies in Iraq after presenting documents indicating that they are still following their studies.

6.      Journalists and public media personnel after submitting applications for visa either through Iraq's missions abroad stating the name of Iraq's mission which they want to receive their visa or through the office of the newspaper, news agency or the TV. satellite in Baghdad with a letter directed to the Press Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicating the name of the Iraqi mission abroad through which they want to receive their visas, or through the journalist's embassy in Baghdad with a note to the Press Department/ MFA requesting the visa and indicating the name of the Iraqi Embassy from which the journalist would like to receive his entry visa.

Second:

Conditions for granting Entry Visas:-

1.     The passport must be valid for at least 6 months.

2.     To full the attached application form for requesting entry visas.

3.     He must be able to cover the cost of living during his stay in Iraq.

4.     Presenting a letter from the health care institutions stating he is true from any disease, otherwise he will be submitted to the Iraqi health care regulations

 

For a person of Iraqi origin:

1- Filling an application form.

2- Submitting any Iraqi document for him, or for his father, brother, sister.

3- One photo.

4- A visa takes maximally one week.

5- Those who apply for a visa by mail should also send a registered return envelope with the above.

6- No fees is charged

For  a person of non-Iraqi origin:

1- Filling an application form.

2- There must be an invitation from a formal Iraqi institution or ministry or a note from the ministry of foreign of the country of that person with a letter from the chamber of commerce.

3- One photo.

4- Embassy writes to Baghdad for approval.

5- The approval takes approximately one month.
